Support model for volunteers

The Advocates for Human Rights provides pro bono representation for immigrants and refugees in Minnesota and through national referral networks. Special focus on SIJS petitions, asylum, and family-based relief.

  • Training: 4-hour SIJS training on demand; multi-week asylum training for case-leads
  • Mentor: Practice-area attorney pairs with volunteers throughout the case (typically 6-9 months)
  • Language: Spanish-language requirement for client-facing work; interpreters available
  • Malpractice: Covered through TAHR’s policy throughout the engagement
