Support model for volunteers
Mid-Minnesota Legal Aid is the largest civil legal aid organization serving the Twin Cities metro. The housing team handles roughly 1,200 eviction cases annually and has been training volunteer attorneys for over a decade.
- Training: 2-hour recorded CLE on Minnesota eviction defense plus optional 30-minute orientation call
- Mentor: A senior MMLA housing attorney is assigned to every volunteer; available throughout the case, same-day response time
- Malpractice: Covered under MMLA’s policy while the case is open
- CLE & bar reporting: Pro bono service hours reported to MN State Bar on completion
